Mission Statement

Camilla Cook's mission is to support and promote artists' growth by serving as a resource and advocate and to provide strategies that empower artists to advance their professional careers.

"Your [Artist Toolkit] presentation was so inspiring and helpful! I loved your strategic, one-size- does-not-fit-all perspective on making one's artwork known. Your "voice" will stay with me as part of my guidance system while I continue to sort out where I am now and where I need to go next.

- Claire Watson Garcia, artist, Ridgefield, CT

"I find your writing to be at once immersive and lyrical, sensitive and articulate [in the Curator's Statement you wrote for the WALA Collective Currents exhibition.] I am humbled by your comments about my work, as I am sure the other artists will be, about theirs. You are a gem!"

- Susan Tremaine, painter and member of Wilson Avenue Loft Artists (WALA), Norwalk, CT

"I can’t thank you enough for your beautifully written and thoughtful insights on our show [Collective Currents, that you curated and wrote about in a Curator's Statement.] I know everyone will be thrilled! I am honored to have had your thoughts on my work; you definitely ‘get’ it! I really can’t thank you enough. The exhibition looks great, and you did an amazing job!!

- Nancy McTague Stock, artist and member of Wilson Avenue Loft Artists (WALA), Norwalk, CT

"I’m so grateful to you for your patient tutoring and help in setting up my website. You’ve made it fun, creative, and manageable. You are a super teacher and make learning technology enjoyable and not intimidating — which is worth it’s weight in gold!"

- Diana Chamberlain, artist. Philadelphia, PA

"As a professional artist, I've longed to spend more time painting in my studio and less time marketing. Camilla Cook helped me achieve this goal effectively and quickly. Together we reworked and updated my website, refocused my artist statement and CV, and entered the world of Instagram. She truly knows her stuff and is a pleasure to work with. She was readily available when I needed her, yet mindful of using our time well. I recommend her without reservation to anyone who wants help with the business side of art."

- Julie Leff, artist. Weston, CT

"What a stimulating, enlightening experience to attend 'Downsized Artists Panel.' As a result of your preparation and study, the artists' remarks were thoughtful and relevant. You were a gracious moderator: warm, inclusive and drew out the speakers to discuss more complex, personal issues. Please keep me posted on your future presentations - I'll follow you anywhere!"

- Donna C., audience member, Bruce Museum's Downsized Artists Panel

"I can only thank you from the bottom of my heart for the excellent work you have presented. You make what I do so much easier (more accessible), in my pursuit to share my art. Thank you!! I cannot believe the quality you put forward in the statement. It blew me away, and I do not know how I could ask for anything better. I feel so lucky that I found you to help me, especially as you have so many talents and skills to give fluency to the areas where I stutter."

-Derek Szteliga, artist. Philadelphia, PA

"As an emerging artist I hired Camilla for her consulting services and was blown away by her commitment and focus. She not only helped me position myself in the world of fine arts, but insisted I draw up a game plan so that I could make the best use of our time together once I left our meeting. She has also followed up with me since our meeting and has continued to offer friendly guidance."
-Petra Szilagyi, artist, New Haven, CT
"I finally had a chance to read the curators statement that was hanging in the hallway and was so impressed.  Wow, so fascinating to see the show  [Wilson Avenue Loft Artists Explorations exhibition] through your eyes and make the connections you saw between our work as individual artists. It was our best show yet - thank you!"
-Lori Glavin, artist. Darien, CT
"Thank you, Camilla!  You bring clarity and perspective to my projects!   I wanted to forward you this link to an article that includes my upcoming solo exhibition. It begins with a description of my show and includes all the information we worked on together, almost verbatim. Clearly, the journalist went on my website and lifted all the info for the article. It is a testament to the professional assistance you gave me writing my bio, statement and CV. My website is working beautifully and positioning me right where I want to be for the launch of my solo exhibition. Many, many thanks."

"Camilla is patient, generous, smart and very dear! We met two years ago to talk about a website. During that time (when I was making my decision) I did my homework and looked at many artist websites. Ultimately I came full circle back to Camilla. She executed the project quickly; my site is up and it's fabulous! All I have to do now is get my left brain working (but then again she said to call any time.) Bravo!"
